Redefining International Pediatric Healthcare Experiences
Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) can be developmentally damaging. Research demonstrates that healthcare experiences can induce trauma in children, as evidenced by behavior problems, depression, developmental delays, anxiety, regression, and avoidance of healthcare. Absence of buffering protective factors such as adequate pain management, appropriate coping resources, and family connection may have long standing implications for children’s physical and mental health, and wellness.
Key outcomes of incorporating pediatric psychosocial care and partnering with Pediatric Potential are:
Enhanced child-coping and health outcomes
Sustainable culturally responsive and evidence-based support
Facilitation of Developmentally supportive opportunities for play and learning
Creation or enhancement of psychosocial staffing and services
Increased patient and family satisfaction scores
Improved Patient Reported Outcome Measures (PROMs)

OUR MISSION
We believe that in order for enhanced healthcare experiences for children and families to become sustainable, training must be accessible, culturally responsive and empower local healthcare practitioners to apply pediatric psychosocial care practices within the hospitals/clinics of their unique cultural contexts.
All children should have access to psychosocial care, to minimize the stress and anxiety of healthcare experiences, and assist in the maintenance of their developmental milestones.
Our mission, informed by the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC), mirrors the 7 Rights Standards for Children in Hospital developed by the World Health Organization (WHO) and its goals for child-centered design and delivery of healthcare in general and hospitals specifically.
Services provided by Pediatric Potential are guided by these principles and are evidenced by the education and experience of our team, which ranges from North America, South East Asia, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and the Indian subcontinent.

WHAT WE DO
We meet with the organizations on-site to learn about their goals and resources.
During this phase we work with partners to determine what resources and services will be best suited to assist them in reaching their desired goals.
Once we have collaboratively identified a strategy to assist our partners in meeting their potential, we work to support sustainable program or process improvements.
THE BENEFITS
Pediatric Potential collaborations are individualized to support our partners' growth potential. Our services aim to redefine the healthcare experience for pediatric patients and their families.
Research has shown an impact through increased patient and family satisfaction scores, improved short and long term child coping and health outcomes, a reduction of hospital operational costs, increased healthcare provider morale, enhanced community engagement, and Patient Reported Outcome Measures (PROMS).
